Bouncing Again

You're in your bouncer all the time now and you're getting more and more expressive. Here's a video of you trying to tell mommy that you're hungry...

Here are just some more cute photos from that day...

Hands & Toys in Mouth

Since the beginning of the month, you've been practicing sucking on your own hands. Every time we turn around you have your hands in your mouth and occasionally we'll find you sucking your thumb. I wouldn't classify you as a thumb-sucker but you do stumble on them occasionally while figuring out your hands...

Just recently you've been trying soooo hard to figure out how to put a toy in your mouth on your own. You've been so close on multiple occasions and then you get so frustrated that you start crying and we have to take your toy away in order to calm you back down. Today, you actually did it for the first time and we were so excited for you...

Here's a video of you trying to put your toy in your mouth and finally succeeding...

First Day of Daycare

Today was your first day at daycare. I took you for part of the day (3 hrs) as a small exposure before your first full day on 7/1 when mommy goes back to work. Ms. Chelsea and Ms. Mary Anne said you did awesome and from everything that I could tell, you really seemed to like it today.

Here you are getting all cleaned up for the next day of school. A girl's gotta look pretty for school...

Anticipating the washcloth and preparing to eat it...

Look at that crazy hair... Poor thing got her mama's hair! : )

All ready for another day of school tomorrow...

Father's Day

This was your daddy's first Father's Day and I know he couldn't have dreamed of spending it with a sweeter little girl! Your daddy told me this was a perfect Father's Day for him.

He got to spend the morning cuddling with you on the couch watching food network. What more could a daddy ask for! Since daddy loves to cook, he is trying to expose you now so that you can spend as much time in the kitchen cooking with him as possible. He can't wait for that...

We both thought daddy might enjoy some blueberry pancakes for breakfast so while he took a quick nap we made a special batch for him. You let him know just how much you love him by personalizing his pancakes with your blueberry "I Love Dad" message...

You made sure to write daddy a special message on the fridge whiteboard too for him to discover later in the day...

Daddy opened his gifts from you and loved them both. You made one of them with your own two hands (and feet)! You also got him a digital photo frame. We thought daddy could take both to work to keep at his desk. That way, he's always reminded of the sweetest little gift that he has to come home to! I think daddy had the best Father's Day ever and it's all because of you sweet pea! Thank you for blessing our lives and for making daddy a daddy!!

Watching TV

So you're definitely starting to notice the TV. It's funny because no matter what you're doing now, you want to be able to see the TV too so you can watch the movement and colors. You're getting to be such a big girl!

Here you are watching Spongebob with mom, while eating of course. You're a very good multi-tasker, which you did NOT get from your daddy... : )

Playing Again

Mommy was trying to eat up every second of her last few weeks of maternity leave with you so she made you pose a whole lot. Here are some more photos. This is also the blankie that Shusha made for you. Thank you so much Shush!! You'll get to meet Shusha around Christmas time when we visit the Hatcher clan.

You thought it would be funny to stick your tongue out at mommy...

Here you are kissing your lamb...

New Bouncer

Since you loved baby Lillian's bouncer so much we went out and picked one up for you. You love it!! It's so funny to watch you because you get so serious when you're looking at the little yellow raccoon and you just chat it up with the blue little owl. You like smiling at the hedgehog too, but that raccoon, he must have done something bad to make you so serious with him...

Sling

A couple days after your shots you started to not feel well. We talked to the doctor and he said it sounded like you might have caught a little cold from being in their office. You could tell that you were so tired and that you just couldn't get comfortable no matter what we did, until dad whipped out the sling. We hadn't ever used it before, but once you curled up inside next to daddy, you fell right asleep and just helped him take care of things around the house. I'm sure daddy will really appreciate me posting these very "manly" photos of him wearing a sling. But, it's just proof that a daddy will do anything to make his baby girl feel better, even wear a sling that we got for mommy to use : ) Thanks daddy!

First Shots

Today was your first day receiving shots at the doctor. It was so sad for mommy and daddy! : ( You were playing and having so much fun and then after you got them (you had 3 separate shots), you cried for 10 minutes straight in the doctor's office and no amount of soothing or holding from mommy and daddy seemed to help you. Since you're generally a baby that doesn't cry very often, it just broke our hearts to see it! You started feeling a little better once we got you home, thank goodness, and you actually did a lot of sleeping so I'm sure that made you feel better too!

Here you are after you got home from the doctor. We took pictures of your little war-wounds too... : (

Crawfish Boil

After spending the morning with Aunt Kissy and Uncle B, we went over to Willow and Marcus' for a crawfish boil. Your dad was of course in heaven since he loves eating all sorts of crazy things! But, this was the first time that you got to meet baby Lillian. She is such a character and loves making very serious faces...

Willow, Marcus and baby Lillian were nice enough to let you borrow Lillian's bouncer. You loved it and spent the entire night hanging out in it...

Plus, you got to wear the other new outfit that Aunt Kissy and Uncle B got you and you were showing it off the whole night. You look like Marilyn Monroe here with the wind blowing your dress up... : ) How goofy!

You had a very long day today and you ended up being so worn out from all of your fun that you slept 7 straight hours at night without waking up. This was your very first time sleeping that long at night!! We were so proud of you! : )

Aunt Kissy & Uncle B Time

Today mommy and daddy needed to go see Julie to get their hair done up. We were starting to look a little scraggly! So Aunt Kissy and Uncle B were nice enough to watch you for the day. We dropped you off in jammies, but I'd like for you to watch the clothing progression...

Aunt Kissy and Uncle B got you all dressed for the day so that you could go shopping together...

Here you are being a little sweet pea for them once you got to the promenade...

And you can see that while you were out shopping you somehow ended up with some entirely new outfits!! Imagine that! Aunt Kissy and Uncle B just can't help themselves.

Just a side note here, today was Uncle B's birthday. I think it's supposed to work the other way around. Baby K, did you buy any gifts for Uncle B while you were out shopping...?? : )

Thank you both so much for watching little girl for us. We can't thank you enough. It was really nice to get to go to a brunch together after haircuts and we couldn't have done it without your help! We're so grateful she got to spend some time with you!

Bumbo Time

So we've been putting you in your bumbo chair for quite some time now to get you used to sitting up. Before today, you really hated the chair and refused to sit in it for more than 15 seconds. Today, you seemed to be okay with it for a longer period of time, maybe it's growing on you...

Here was your breaking point (after about a couple minutes of sitting)...

Once daddy picked you up you were feeling much better. Better enough to even pose for a mom photo...
