So Aunt Connie, Uncle Kraig and LoLo were kind enough to watch you for an entire afternoon and evening for us so that mommy and daddy could go on a date day/night together. I'll admit that we did a lot of talking and thinking about you on date day but we did good and stayed out the whole time we promised ourselves we would.
You had a ton of fun with Con, Kraig and LoLo! Here you and LoLo are posing for the camera...
LoLo had a lot of stories to share with you about the way of the world...
She also made sure to show you the best way to play with your toys...
And let's not forget that she gave you detailed instructions on the best paci insertion method : ) ...
The night started to wind down with kisses before bedtime...
And then you were out...
Here's a glimpse of LoLo trying to remember what it was like to be in a boppy. She thought she would try yours on for size!
Thank you so much Con, Kraig and LoLo for taking such great care of baby girl while we were on date day! It was so sweet of you all to watch her for us. She loved every second of the time she got to spend with you (and she learned a ton from LoLo, I'm sure) :)

Holding Toys!
Today was the first day that you really started trying to put your toys into your mouth if we helped you put them in your hand. You were practicing and practicing with daddy, having a great time...
Next thing I know, I came out of the bedroom to find that you and daddy had both fallen asleep. I snuck in a photo before you both woke up. All that playing must have really made you tired. Look at my two babies together...
While you've been working on your toy holding and toy eating skills, you've also gotten really good at blowing bubbles...
And of course, these are just more cute photos from the same day :)

Big Girl Sit Up Time, AGAIN!
So while daddy was at work I thought we would practice our big girl sit up skills again so we headed into the office to give it a try. I think it's hysterical how you can see your mood progression in these photos. You started out okay with it at first but by the end were definitely tired of mommy trying to make you sit up. Looks like by the end, mom had given you a migraine...

Reading
Daddy loves to read to you while you play on your activity mat. You just kick and kick away while you listen to him read to you. You love playing with daddy...
Here's a video of daddy reading to you (sorry for the sound quality, you'll probably have to turn the volume up really high in order to hear it)...

Picnic
We took you to the park for your first time today. You really loved being outside and getting to look around at everything. You would smile really big every time you felt the breeze. It was so cute. You played while daddy and I ate lunch and then you were ready to nap. It started to look like it could rain at any minute and we decided it would be better to be safe than sorry so we loaded you back up to head home after about an hour and 1/2 or so! I think you're going to be like mommy and daddy and love being outdoors.
We just wanted to point out that when you're trying to go to sleep/ while you're sleeping, you like to tug on your hair. I think you might be taking after your cousin LoLo on this one. She loves to twirl her hair (or other people's hair) when she's tired. I'm not sure if cousin Mason plays with his or not when he's tired, but it is definitely something that seems to run in the family! : )

Meeting Grandma Laura, Aunt Cindy and Cousin Caroline
You finally got to meet your Grandma Laura, Aunt Cindy and Cousin Caroline for the first time. They took a train all the way from California to meet you and picked up Cousin Caroline on the way. They could hardly put you down while they were here and just kept telling us what a mild-mannered baby you are. You truly are so patient!! I wonder where you get that from! It certainly isn't me : )
Somehow Aunt Cindy and Cousin Caroline managed to escape from being photographed on my camera, not quite sure how that happened but they certainly loved every second that they got to spend with you too!
Grandma Laura just loved talking to you and telling you that when your daddy was holding you it reminded her so much of Grandpa Roy holding Aunt Cindy when she was a baby!
Four generations all in the same place, truly amazing to see you all together...
I know just how much your daddy loved spending time with Grandma Laura when he was growing up and I am certain that you will love it just as much. I know Grandma Laura cherishes both you and daddy so much...
Grandma Laura kept telling you that you were her whole world and her reason for living. It just filled my heart with such happiness that I couldn't help but tear up every time I heard her say it to you...
You really liked playing in Grandma's lap. She told us that she used to do the same thing with all of her kids and daddy because she has such long legs and it's the most comfortable spot for you : )
Meema got to come from Joplin to spend time with Grandma Laura while she was here too, which meant that she thankfully also got to spend more time with you!
Look how happy you make your Meema...
You can only imagine the debates that ensued between Grandmas about who got to hold you first : ) They really did a great job at sharing with one another. We're proud of you Grandmas! : )

6 Week Photos
We took you to get your first photos done at 6 weeks. They turned out really cute!
(Sorry for the poor resolution of these. They're just scans of the hard copies using our home scanner which isn't so great. Don't worry family, we'll be printing additional copies for you and getting them to you very soon!)
